All Hallows by the Tower is the oldest church in the City of London, dating back to 675 AD. A beacon of Christian worship on Tower Hill, it also celebrates more than 1300 years of English history and heritage.
All Hallows is a vital part of the community which surrounds Tower Hill; hosting school visits, weddings, memorials and community events; facilitating theatre, choral and classic music companies; and providing an inclusive space for spiritual renewal.
This blog exists as an extension of All Hallows’ ministry. Here we will muse and pray, discuss history and culture, publicize events, and connect with each other.
A Note on Inclusive Church
Inclusive Church is a group of Christians uniting together around our statement of belief:
“We believe in inclusive Church – church which does not discriminate, on any level, on grounds of economic power, gender, mental health, physical ability, race or sexuality. We believe in Church which welcomes and serves all people in the name of Jesus Christ; which is scripturally faithful; which seeks to proclaim the Gospel afresh for each generation; and which, in the power of the Holy Spirit, allows all people to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Jesus Christ.”
